Sometimes the best way to celebrate someone is to make them laugh. Our original A Big Dill design began with a simple bit of wordplay: turn deal into dill, make the pickle big enough to live up to the pun, and give him a personality all his own. The result is Kirby, one wicked cool cucumber transformed into dimensional paper art you can share.
Kirby is our original design, made from individual pieces of paper that are precision-cut by machine, then positioned, layered, and glued by hand. Dark green paper forms his underlying body shape, including his arms and legs. Light green glitter paper creates his rounded pickle body, with the dark green beneath showing through to form his distinctive markings. Thin matte black cardstock creates his outline and smile, and sparkling black glitter paper adds a little extra swagger to his signature sunglasses.
Even the lettering gets in on the joke. The oversized A Big Dill lettering is cut from rich gold glitter paper chosen to suggest yellow mustard, because every pickle needs a little fancy mustard.
