The black bear is our original design, created from individual pieces of paper, precision-cut by machine, then positioned, layered, and glued by hand. Matte black paper forms his broad body, sturdy legs, rounded head, and small ears, creating a silhouette designed to read unmistakably as a black bear. Tan paper layered beneath the black creates his muzzle, inner ears, and chest marking.
His face is built through tiny cutouts and layers of paper. Black paper revealed through the tan muzzle creates his nose and smile, and his eyes glance upward with just a hint of an eye roll. The expression gives our bear a little personality and makes it appear as if knows exactly how bad good the pun is.
Beneath the bear, Thank You Beary Much stretches across the card in tall, slender lettering. Small horizontal strokes along the tops and bottoms of the letters create a structured look. The message is drawn directly onto the card with a robotic pen using fine-point black ink for clean, consistent lines with the charm of pen-and-ink writing.
