Just Chicken on Ewe | Pun Intended Card
The original spark for this design came from a “Just Chicken on You” meme that made us laugh. Then the idea took an absurd turn. We transformed “you” into “ewe,” and suddenly there was a chicken standing on a sheep. The more literal we made the joke, the funnier it became.
But sheep and chickens in Maine? Ayup. Maine’s agricultural story is shaped by small farms, artisan producers, and a deep connection to local food and land. Chickens and sheep are a familiar pairing here, often sharing pasture space surprisingly well. That made this dynamic duo feel right at home.
To create the card, we selected shimmering white glitter cardstock for the sheep’s wool and matte black cardstock for the body and facial details. Warm copper glitter cardstock creates our tiny lookout, while the sheep’s unbothered expression suggests this is not the first time this has happened. Black glitter cardstock creates the playful “Just Chicken on Ewe” lettering.
The result is a lighthearted way to reach out without ruffling any feathers.
