The Downeast lobster boat is our original design, created from individual pieces of paper, precision-cut by machine, then positioned, layered, and glued by hand. Matte black cardstock forms the boat's underlying silhouette, with dark blue paper creating the hull, dark green paper forming the trim and roof, and white cardstock creating the wheelhouse. Cutouts in the white paper reveal the black layer beneath to form the windows, and the black silhouette extends upward to create a shadow behind the antenna.
Beneath the lobster boat, Thanks a Boatload appears in rounded, fun lettering that looks hand-drawn. The pun is written directly onto the card with a robotic pen using fine-point black ink to create clean, consistent lettering with the charm of pen-and-ink writing.
