Made to Give is a $20 purchase option that lets you buy one handcrafted card and donate one  handcrafted card to Wicked Good Cards, our Maine-based 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to making greeting cards available inside care communities in Maine.

It depends on the card you choose.

If you purchase a card from the Holiday, Maine, Pun Intended, Sympathy, or Thank You collection, the donated card will have the same design as the card you purchased.

If you purchase a card from the Celebrate or Just Because collection, the donated card will use a Wicked Good Design. 

A Wicked Good Design is an original Mainely Cards design used to create donated cards. These designs are selected because they are suitable for many different occasions and recipients.

Because we're from Maine. Around here, "wicked good" is a way of saying something is truly exceptional. It felt like the perfect name for Made to Give.

Wicked Good Designs help solve two important challenges. 

1. They make it possible for every card in the Mainely Cards catalog to be available with the Made to Give purchase option, giving you the choice to donate a handcrafted card with every purchase. 
   

2. They help care communities make the most of their limited storage space. Because each Wicked Good Design can support many different messages, care communities can offer relevant card choices without needing space for every design in the Mainely Cards catalog.

There are currently two Wicked Good Designs. The Wicked Good Balloons card represents the Celebrate collection and the Wicked Good Butterfly card represents the Just Because collection.

Yes! Both the Wicked Good Balloons card and the Wicked Good Butterfly card are available for purchase in the Mainely Cards shop.

Cards are donated to Wicked Good Cards for placement in Maine care communities, including hospitals, hospice organizations, shelters, and other nonprofit community organizations. From there, the cards are made available to patients, residents, family members, volunteers, caregivers, and staff whenever they want to share a card with someone.

Not directly. Cards donated to Wicked Good Cards are placed in partner care communities throughout Southern Maine, where they are made available to the people they serve.

Yes. Donated cards are handcrafted using the same materials, processes, and quality standards as every Mainely Card. Each donated card is blank inside, paired with a coordinating embossed envelope, and packaged in a clear protective sleeve.

Every card donated through the Made to Give purchase option is documented in the Wicked Good Cards Giving Gallery. Each entry becomes part of the nonprofit's permanent public record, providing transparency for every donation.
