This is a Cheesy Card | Pun Intended Card
We’ve never read a pun we didn’t like, so when building out the humor collection, we knew a cheesy card had to make the cut. Maine also happens to produce excellent artisan cheese, including award-winning goudas, and since gouda is a personal favorite in our house, it earned the starring role here.
The little mouse was inspired by the woodland mice in our backyard forest. This particular one seems to fancy himself a cheese critic. Handing him an “It’s Gouda!” sign gave him a voice and turned one cheesy joke into two. Score.
To create the card, we paired matte marigold and red cardstock to create both the dimensional wedge of gouda and the layered “This Is a Cheesy Card” lettering, visually tying the composition together. The tiny gray mouse holding a black-and-white cardstock sign completes the scene.
The result is a gouda way to send a smile.
