Seas the Day | Pun Intended Card
Sailboats are a familiar part of Maine life. Harbors are frequently dotted with masts, from small recreational boats to historic windjammers. Our rugged coastline, protected bays, and island-dotted waters make Maine a natural destination for sailors. Having explored the Maine coast from sailboats and windjammer cruises ourselves, we knew a sailboat belonged in the collection.
Pairing that sailboat with a nautical spin on carpe diem wasn’t part of the original plan, but once the “Seas the Day” pun surfaced, we knew the sailboat had found its message. The sails, waves, and lettering all belonged to the same scene.
To create the card, we selected a colorful mix of matte and glitter cardstock for the sailboat. A matte brown mast supports emerald green glitter and matte golden yellow sails and is topped with a metallic red glitter flag. A matte blue hull sits above layered light blue and sapphire blue glitter waves. Flowing sapphire blue glitter lettering creates the wave-inspired “Seas the Day” sentiment, mirroring the movement of the layered waves.
The result helps you send a wave of encouragement.
