Red Cardinal in White Tree | Sympathy Card
For some people, the appearance of a red Northern Cardinal carries special meaning. Its symbolism has become closely tied to remembrance and the memory of loved ones.
We wanted the design to feel simple and reflective. The scene is inspired by our winters in southern Maine, where visiting cardinals are a familiar sight. The maple’s bare branches create a sense of stillness while a single perched cardinal serves as the focal point of the design.
To create the card, we selected shimmering white glitter cardstock for the tree and layered it over black cardstock to create depth and contrast. Metallic red glitter cardstock forms the cardinal, creating a vivid focal point against the black-and-white tree. Black glitter cardstock creates the “With Sympathy” sentiment.
The result is a thoughtful way to honor remembrance and express sympathy.
