Lobster Boat | Maine Symbols Card
No two lobster boats are exactly alike. Each one is shaped by the needs and preferences of the lobsterman who owns it. The colors, proportions, and details reflect the person who works from it every day, creating boats with identities of their own.
That individuality influenced how we approached this design. Discovering how much personality and identity is built into these working boats made us want to create one of our own. We incorporated colors from the Mainely Cards brand palette, giving the boat a red hull, and placed it within a familiar coastal scene with blue Atlantic waters and three seagulls overhead to capture a familiar sight along Maine's coast.
To create the card, we selected metallic red glitter cardstock for the hull, white glitter for the railing, reflective blue foil for the waves, and matte gray for the three seagulls. Matte white and black papers form the cabin and base details, while the layered construction creates depth and dimension throughout the scene.
The result is a distinctive way to let someone know they’re one of a kind.
