Ewe Rock | Pun Intended Card
“You rock” is one of those simple phrases that can mean almost anything good. It can celebrate an accomplishment, recognize someone's strengths, express gratitude, or offer encouragement. That versatility made it a natural starting point for this design.
Early concepts explored a literal rock character, but that idea felt too familiar. The breakthrough came when we transformed “you” into “ewe.” This little sheep standing atop a boulder made us laugh. It was unexpected, slightly absurd, and impossible to resist.
To create the card, we selected shimmering white glitter cardstock for the sheep’s wool and matte black cardstock for the body and facial details. The dimensional boulder is built from three tones of layered matte gray cardstock, creating depth and contrast beneath the sheep. Black glitter cardstock creates the “Ewe Rock” lettering.
The result is a playful way to send a rock-solid message.
